Diabetes mellitus, or diabetes is a metabolic disease in which one has really high sugar content in the blood, either because the pancreas fails to produce sufficient insulin or because the cells fail to respond well to the insulin produced. - less than 140 mg/dl means normal

Complications Caused By All Types Of Diabetes?
1. Cardiovascular disease
This is normally the major cause of death for most diabetes patients. Diabetes affects the blood vessels and the heart which then leads to heart attack and stroke.
2. Kidney disease (diabetic nephropathy)
Diabetes will cause damage to the small blood vessels that are present in the kidney. As a result to this, the kidney experiences bad efficiency or sometimes failure.

3. Nerve disease (diabetic neuropathy)
When the level of glucose or blood pressure becomes high, damage to the nerves will occur. This can lead to digestion problems, erectile dysfunction and loss of feeling. Loss of feeling can be very dangerous. This is because the pain receptors will fail to sense pain, allowing injuries to go unnoticed which they may lead to serious infections and amputations.
4. Eye disease (diabetic retinopathy)

Home Remedies To Improve And Prevent Diabetes
1. Bitter gourd juice
The perfect remedy for diabetes definitely. This is proven to bring down the sugar level, and prevent diabetes at the same time. All you got to do is blend a bitter gourd with some water and then strain it into a glass. If you’re diabetic, then you should drink a glass of it every day, with an empty stomach. If you’re not (but with a family history of diabetes), then you should try taking this every now and then to prevent it.
2. Gooseberry juice
Gooseberry juice helps a lot in cutting down your blood sugar level. You can get it in stores. You have to consume this at least twice a day depending on the types of diabetes. It is said that people with type 2 have to consume this dink more to make the cells more sensitive to insulin.
Replace sugar with honey instead in your coffee, tea or so on. Honey is save to consume but however bearing in mind that it is the amount of carbohydrate and starches intake that matters, not the sugar. Honey is also a type of carbohydrate. So you might want to count your total carbohydrate intake per day. And also, make sure to consume pure honey (without addition of glucose, cane sugar, malt and starch).

Ginseng too helps in clearing unnecessary glucose content in the blood. Boil ginseng with water. Take this drink frequently and there, you’ll see a decrease in your diabetes level. And like any other diabetes remedies, make sure to take this on an empty stomach.
7. Betel leaves
These leaves have been found to have anti-diabetic properties and helps a lot in treating this dreadful disease. Boil five to seven betel leaves with 3 cups water, and strain it into a glass. Drink this twice every day and your sugar level will be lowered down within just two weeks.
8. Dry, matured petai seeds
Petai is an Asian plant that contains a lot of nutrients and helps curing diseases like high blood pressure, cholesterol problems and also diabetes. Stir around the seeds of petai on a pan but without using oil until it becomes a little dark and crispy. Later, blend the seeds until it turns into coarse powder form. Mix 3 tbs of the powder with a glass of hot water and drink it like coffee. Repeat this every day and you shall see a drop in your sugar level.
9. Tomatoes and yeast
Blend a tomato with a tsp of yeast with a cup of water. Take this drink every day for best results. Remember to drink it immediately after blending. This one of the rarest diabetes remedies, but is worth the try. Some people can be allergic to yeast, so they might want to consider trying other remedy.
10. Take Plenty of water
Water will help clear and dilute all the unwanted sugar in your blood. You should drink at least 10 glasses of water per day if you’re diabetic. And each time you take a coffee or tea (with sugar), remember to drink two cups of water afterwards to clear the sugar concentration in your blood.
